Amazon will celebrate its 20th birthday next week by launching Prime Day – a day of deals the online megastore says will put Black Friday in the shade.
That's no small claim, given the absolute monster that Black Friday has become in the last couple of years.
Prime Day is scheduled for July 15th – that's Wednesday next week, and will bring thousands of deals exclusively for Amazon Prime subscribers.
Prime members only
For those who don't know, Prime is Amazon's premium service which offers unlimited one-day deliver on all your orders, plus access to the Amazon Prime Instant Video service for a fee of $99/£79 per year.
If you're a UK reader, Amazon is running an offer for the next two days in which you can get a year of Amazon Prime for £59 – that's a £20 discount.
But of course, if you don't want to pay anything but still get in on Prime Day, Amazon runs a 30 day trial for Amazon Prime so that'll do nicely.
Prime Day will go live at midnight on the 15th for Prime subscribers in US, UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Austria.
