Samsung has a history of filling its flagship phones with extra apps and services, but the new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge take it to a new level with a whole 8GB dedicated to software and additional applications.
According to Droid Life, after Android 6 Marshmallow software, the TouchWiz overlay and a number of different services, the phone will already have 8.05GB taken up. That leaves you with only 26GB left to play with.
You can add in a microSD card (up to 200GB), but Marshmallow's Adoptable Storage feature isn't available on the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge.
This means you won't be able to use your microSD card as internal storage, so it may be slower at accessing apps and media.
No adoption
The Galaxy S6 software took up 6.5GB of the phone's internal storage while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ was a little higher at 6.8GB.
Apps pre-installed on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge can be moved to the microSD card. Droid Life found that after moving the apps to a microSD card and then taking the card out the apps were no longer on the phone. So far there doesn't seem to be any other way of deleting the apps.
If you try the method above, you'll be wasting a microSD card and having to buy another to put in the phone.
If Samsung just released the phone without all the third-party apps in the first place, a lot of people would be a lot happier with the additional storage. Especially as the company dropped the 64GB and 128GB S7 models.
